CLAMP is actually a group of artists: Igarashi Satsuki (五十嵐さつき), Mokona Apapa (もこなあぱぱ) , Nekoi Mick (猫井みっく), and Ohkawa Nanase (大川七瀬). (Judging by the profiles on
CLAMP-NET.COM, they prefer to keep their names in the Eastern order.)

Past members include Tamayo Akiyama (秋山たまよ) and Leeza Sei (聖りいざ), aka Takeo Iba (伊庭竹緒). Please note that works attributed to individual members of CLAMP are not included in this list.
As a group, CLAMP is insanely popular the world over, which is why CLAMP tops my list of most overrated artists. In fact, CLAMP is in every way extreme, whether its the melodramatic writing, the forced humor, or the overdone art. Some titles are better than others, but I wouldnt really recommend any of their works.

| CLAMP Gakuen Tanteidan was novelized in three books by Hiroko Naka (中弘子). TokyoPops Clamp School Paranormal Investigators is apparently a translation of a separate but related series of novels: CLAMP Gakuen Kaiki Genshou Kenkyuukai Jiken File (CLAMP学園怪奇現象研究会事件ファイル) 1-3 by Tomiyuki Matsumoto (松本富之). Both series were published by Kadokawa Shoten.
CLAMP Gakuen Tanteidan also appeared as two drama CDs, an animated TV series (translated into English as Clamp School Detectives by Bandai Entertainment), and film comics based on the animation.
The original comic has been translated into English by TokyoPop as CLAMP School Detectives. There were two French translations, Clamp School Detectives published by Média Système and Clamp School Détectives from Pika. The German title is School Detectives, from Carlsen Comics, and the Italian title CLAMP Detective, published by Star Comics. Norma Editorial has also translated the series into Spanish as CLAMP Club de Detectives.

| This collection of illustrations made for Yoshiki Tanakas Souryuuden novel series (see below) appears to be directed at boys, but the included comic originally ran in Kadokawa Shotens girls magazine Asuka Mystery DX.

Other Works:
CLAMP has of course done many, many other titles. Most of their works are also for girls, but are not considered mystery/horror (officially, at least). Rg Veda (聖伝), their earliest series, was published by Shinshokan (新書館) first in ten volumes under Wings Comics and later in seven volumes under Shinshokan Wings Bunko (新書館ウィングス文庫). Tokyo Babylon (東京BABYLON) was likewise released in seven volumes under Wings Comics, then five Shinshokan Wings Bunkos. X 1-18 was published by Kadokawa Shoten under Asuka Comics, and Rex under Asuka Comics Deluxe. Kodansha (講談社) published Magic Knight Rayearth (魔法騎士レイアース) 1-3 and Magic Knight Rayearth 2 (魔法騎士レイアース2) 1-3 each in two separate editions under Kodansha Comics Deluxe. Card Captor Sakura (カードキャプターさくら) was also put out by Kodansha in its original twelve-volume Kodansha Comics Deluxe release, a six-volume bilingual edition, and a newer twelve-volume A5 edition. And Clover 1-4 appeared under Kodansha Comics Amie. VIZ is translating X into English as X/1999; and Cardcaptor Sakura, Clover, Magic Knight Rayearth, Rg Veda, and Tokyo Babylon have all been translated by TokyoPop.
They have also done a number of boys titles, the earliest from Kadokawa Shoten: 20 Mensou ni Onegai!! (20面相におねがい!!) 1-2, Gakuen Tokkei Duklyon (学園特警デュカリオン) 1-2 and Fushigi no Kuni no Miyuki-chan (不思議の国の美幸ちゃん) were first printed under NewType 100% comics, then rereleased under Kadokawa Comics Ace. Angelic Layer 1-5 and Kobato. (こばと。) 1-2 were also put out under Kadokawa Comics Ace. Other boys comics are Chobits (ちょびっツ) 1-8 and xxxHOLiC 1-13, published by Kodansha under Kodansha Comics Deluxe. Kodansha also put out two volumes of Chobits in a bilingual edition. Tsubasa (ツバサ) 1-23 is also from Kodansha, published in a Kodansha Comics Shounen Magazine (講談社コミックス少年マガジン) edition as well as a deluxe edition sometimes referred to separately as Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle. And Kodansha has now published the related Soel to Larg: Mokona=Modoki no Bouken (ソエルとラーグ モコナ=モドキの冒険). TokyoPops Angelic Layer, Chobits, Duklyon, Man of Many Faces, and Miyuki-chan in Wonderland are all translations of CLAMPs boys comics; and Tsubasa and xxxHOLiC are both being released in English by Del Rey.
And there have been a few ladies comics as well. Combination 1-2 and Shirahime Shou (白姫抄) were published by Kobunsha (光文社). Shirahime Shou was rereleased under Asuka CL-DX. Watashi no Suki na Hito (わたしのすきなひと) was from Kadokawa Shoten under Young Rosé Comics Deluxe, and Shin Shunka Den (新・春香伝) was published once under Hakusensha Ladies Comics (白泉社レディ−スコミックス) and once under Hakusensha Bunko (白泉社文庫). Shirahime Shou has been translated by TokyoPop as Shirahime-Syo, Watashi no Suki na Hito as The One I Love, and Shin Shunka Den as The Legend of Chun Hyang.
Angelic Layer, Card Captor Sakura (released in English as Cardcaptors), Chobits, Fushigi no Kuni no Miyuki-chan, Magic Knight Rayearth, Rg Veda, Tokyo Babylon, Tsubasa, X, and xxxHOLiC have all been animated. There was an animated tribute film, CLAMP in Wonderland, and CLAMP is credited for planning and character design for the animated TV series Sweet Valerian (スウィート・ ヴァレリアン), and character design for Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion (コードギアス 反逆のルルーシュ). And of course there has been a plethora of media related to their titles: fan books, illustration collections, film comics, video games, drama CDs, screen savers, calendars, trading cards, etc., etc. For more information I can only refer you to CLAMP-NET.COM or the dozens of fan sites out on the web.
CLAMP has put out four other books which do not appear to be comics:
- The "Kadokawa Greeting Book" Shining Star.
- The Asuka Comics picture book Mokona-oujo no Ehon (もこなおうじょのえほん).
- Kakyou no Chikyuu Seifuku Nikki* (かきょうのちきゅうせいふくにっき), another picture book, published by Kodansha.
- A fashion book, CLAMP Mokona no O-kimono Kimono (CLAMPもこなのオキモノキモノ), published by Kawade Shobo Shinsha (河出書房新社).
They illustrated Yoshiki Tanaka (田中芳樹)s Souryuuden (創竜伝) 1-11 (also see above) and the first two Night Head novels by George Iida (飯田譲治), all published by Kadokawa Shoten.
Youko Tsukumo (つくもようこ)s Majo Yakata* (魔女館) novel series was also illustrated by CLAMP, and published by Kadokawa Shoten and Kodansha.
There has been a cooperative two-volume art book series, CLAMP no E Shigoto* (CLAMPノ絵シゴト): North Side, published by Kodansha, and South Side, published by Kadokawa Shoten. TokyoPop has also republished these volumes.
And there is a self-produced fan magazine series called CLAMP no Kiseki: Official File Magazine (CLAMPノキセキ OFFICIAL FILE MAGAZINE). Twelve issues of this typically shameless self-promotion have been published and also released in English by TokyoPop.
